The juxtaposition of giant wind turbines beside a factory still belching emissions into the atmosphere can be interpreted many ways. Does the photo suggest validation that the world is transitioning to clean energy? Or does it represent the difficulty of fully displacing fossil fuels in the factories of long-established industries?
My original photo was taken in Northern Europe, where transitioning to clean energy is a leading imperative. Converting the image to pop-art amplifies the contrast of brownish, long-entrenched businesses and the promise of new, green energy in the pursuit of decarbonization and energy security.
